Our criminal justice system has multiple levels of review intended to ensure that unjust convictions and sentences do not stand. This means that even if you have stood trial and have been convicted of a crime, you still have options. A direct appeal to a higher court gives you the chance to seek redress for prejudicial errors that occurred during your trial or sentencing and could have potentially changed the outcome. However, appellate practice is vastly different from trial practice and requires the services of an experienced appellate attorney.
If you, or someone you know, has been convicted and sentenced for a criminal offense, your time frame for seeking review is very limited. Do not wait and potentially lose the opportunity to challenge a conviction and/or sentence, only later to learn that your requests for relief are time-barred. Take advantage of every reasonable legal option that is available to you.
Having represented hundreds of clients in Florida by litigating various federal criminal offenses and issues on appeal, Tracy DaCruz, Esq., stands ready and prepared to assess your situation, advise you of your appellate options, and defend your appellate rights before the Florida and federal appellate courts.
